Greater Binghamton FC needs your help. Below is a list of positions open with their individual job descriptions. These positions are voluntary as are all positions within GBFC. The only requirement is that all volunteers be 18 or older unless noted below. If you would like to volunteer or need more information please go to our website, “Contact Us” tab, and submit your contact information or question.

Game Day Volunteers

•Security/parking attendants
•Concession workers
•Vending sales for spectators during game
•Post-game clean-up people
•Pre-game setup people
•Ticket and Gate handling
•Visiting Team Liaison
•Floaters

2 Host Teams (Youth team U10 or older)

•1 Team will be host to the HOME team
•1 Team will be host to the VISITING team ◦Teams will escort their team onto the field, participate in the opening game ceremony, and act as ball persons during the game

GAME ANNOUNCER(GA)

The GA will be solely responsible for the live soccer game announcements over the public address system provided at all GBFC Thunder and Thunder Reserve games held at Visions Field, Greater Binghamton Sports Complex 1500 Airport Road, Binghamton, NY 13905. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

•Pre-game announcements of upcoming events
•Home and away player announcements at the beginning of the game
•Sponsor announcements, on a rotating basis, of all sponsors at pre game, during stoppages, intermission, and at the end of the game
•Announcement during the match of the next home game date and time
•Announcement during the match of the next away game date and time
•Announce any special upcoming promotions regarding the team
•Pre-game conference with both coaching staffs to obtain correct name pronunciations, special interest details about several individual players
•Work with the Sound Technician (DJ) before, during, and after the match to enhance the spectator experience

Job Summary

•Salary – volunteer
•Hours per week – 4 on game days
•Start/Finish Dates- May 20 thru August 1, 2017, scheduled home games only. League playoffs could extend the end date.

Applicant will posses a strong vocal talent and a unique outgoing personality. Applicant must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Applicant must know soccer rules and ideally have played the game prior to beginning the job. Applicant will work closely with the game day operations staff and is expected to contribute to the overall success of the game experience for the spectators and players.

Sound Technician/Disk Jockey:

The DJ will be solely responsible for the music content and delivery over either a Technician supplied sound system or a system supplied by the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex at all GBFC Thunder and Thunder Reserve games held at Visions Field, Greater Binghamton Sports Complex 1500 Airport Road, Binghamton, NY 13905. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

•  Have all music playlists approved by the General Manager
•  Provide an upbeat, exciting playlist for the pregame to be broadcast as the teams warm-up and spectators arrive
•  Work directly with the Game Announcer during the game with unique crowd inspiring sound bytes of music to boost the spectator involvement during the contest
•   Provide any special music for promotional activities at the intermission
•  Arrive early to set up and test the sound system to ensure proper operation prior to the teams arrival
•  Tear down any equipment not permanently installed and properly remove from the press box
